It all pretty much started out about two years ago. (early 2005) After having it recommended to me by my older Brother, Jamie, I downloaded Garry's Mod which had just had its first release, which was either v1 or 2. I played it for a week or two before I noticed the site had some forums. I regularly started checking them out for around 20 minutes a day, just to see what new things people had come up with.
Pretty soon people were creating textures and models for it. That's when I noticed someone on the forums had modelled the Half-Life 2 logo and compiled it for in-game use. It definitely caught my eye. I'm unsure who created it, but it was very good. - Funnily enough, now that I think back on it it probably wasn't that hard to do. Anyway, it tipped off my curiosity. Pretty soon after that I decided to have a shot at modelling myself. So I did. It's now a couple of years down the line since then and I still highly enjoy learning about or making game content.
I'm able to create pretty reasonable textures and models now, and with no prospect of giving up, I'm hoping I can keep getting better at making both in the future.
That pretty much covers how I got into 3d modelling, so here's a few personal details about myself: my birth-date is the 9th of June, 1990, which makes me 18 at the moment. I'm currently living in England with my Mum, two Brothers and my Sister, with other family members living close-by. My favourite hobby at the moment is modelling (who'd of guessed), but others consist of: swimming, PC/console gaming, reading, driving, other 3d/2d graphical art and just general lazing about.
